Hello,

I was arrived to Montreal, Quebec 3 moths ago as Privately Sponsored Refugee. I have wife and child which were not listed in my document "IMM0008". When I arrived at the port of entry in Toronto I report to the Immigration Officer about my wife and child that unable to come along with me and they were not listed in my Immigration Document. The immigration officer blamed on me about my responsibility however after she discussed with her boss and come back to she said I can sponsor my wife and child any time at Canada Immigration Office.

I have all the document to prove about my relationship. But I really not sure how to process the document. Could any one please help? Thank you in advance.

Best,

I don't think you can sponsor them. Any family member not listed in the forms can't ever be sponsored. Even under the one-year window of opportunity provisions.

See here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5578ETOC.asp

If you answer YES to all of the following questions, you may request that we process your family members’ applications for permanent residence:

- Did you arrive in Canada less than one year ago?
- Were you accepted as a member of the Convention Refugees Abroad and Humanitarian-Protected Persons Abroad (Country of Asylum) classes?
- Was the separated family member identified on your Application for Permanent Residence in Canada (IMM 0008) form?
- Does your family member meet the definition (see section Definition of family member)?

Sorry.

Why didn't you declare that you had a wife and kid? Because you didn't, you cannot sponsor them through family class stream, forever.
