Hello Everyone,

I write to you all in a stat of panic. I was told that my Goodlife fitness advisor role would be accepted for PR but turns out that it does not. I finish my one year PGWP next month but the job i have now (which matches the NOC) i have been here for only 9 months. What can i do to stay and work and be able to apply for my PR in July (thats when i finish one year of work exp at my current place of work

Looking forward to hear from all of you

Thanks

Your employer would need to obtain a positive LMIA for you to apply for a closed work permit.

As said above, if you want to stay in Canada and work beyond the expiry of your PGWP, you will need to find an employer who is willing to give you a job and also obtain an approved LMIA. Hopefully your current employer is willing to do this. Once you have a job offer and approved LMIA, you can then apply for a closed work permit linked to that specific employer. You will want to make sure the job is NOC A, B or 0 skill level so that this work experience can count towards CEC and FSW Express Entry.

If you aren't able to secure a job offer & approved LMIA before your work permit expires in a month, you can apply to change your status to visitor and remain here without working longer to try to find a job and / or while you wait for your employer to get an approved LMIA.

Lastly, what country are you from and how old are you? Any chance you qualify for an IEC visa?
