Hi,
My mum is coming to Canada as a visitor visa from Nepal on first week of February. The return date is not fixed. May be I can extend visa for other more 6 months later. Can she come with one way ticket or she has to take two way tickets. I heard that visitor has to take two way tickets. But her return date is not fixed. If I take two way ticket, cancellation charge is very expensive. Can she come with one way ticket or not ?

Regards,

they will question it, I suggest you do us have an open ticket for her to go home plus do a supervisa.

One way ticket is fine.

If they ask you, you can say that return ticket was expensive so she will buy in few weeks.

If she is coming on a super visa - one way ticket is fine.

If she is coming on a regular visitor visa - she needs a two way ticket. The airline most likely won't let her board the airplane without one.

If you don't buy cheap tickets, you may have the option of changing the date back. Try to book an approx. realistic date and you can change it if it's needed.

By the way, one way tickets are always much more expensive then two way tickets. Just simply doesn't worth to buy one way ticket. In worst case you still can cancel the way back. Still cheaper

My wife has visited via flight many times with only one way air ticket. airplane staff don't care about return ticket as long as u have valid visa.

It depends on the departure airport.

Even if someone has a valid visa, there's a slim chance s/he could be refused entry at the POE. As the others have suggested, a two-way ticket (open, refundable, date change allowed) is advisable

Untrue. Depends on the airline and departure city. Many deny without a return ticket and we've seen a number of instances of this on the forum. Your wife has just been lucky so far.
