One given name on passport is different than COPR

Hello,

I received my COPR recently and will be landing in Canada next month. The Canadian embassy did not affix the visa counterfoil on my passport and sent me a Single Journey Document instead. In the passport number field in both the visa and the COPR they put "xxxxxxxxxxxx". My passport is a bit damaged in the front page/photo, so I think this might be the reason. I renewed my passport yesterday, but they did a change in my given name. I have two names as my given name, the first is MOHAMMAD but they used to write it as MHD, now they have changed the rules to write the name in full like below:

Old passport and COPR: MHD XXXX
New passport: MOHAMMAD XXXX

My question is: do I have to request for a name change before I travel? if yes, how to do it and what documents do I need to provide?

Did you change your copr. I have the same issue. If you did change your copr how long did it take you? Any feed back would be much appreciated. Thanks
