Returning to Canada on the same day after going to USA; when you enter the data on residency calculator it shows 0 days. Is it correct?

Thanks a lot hoping_canadian. I was bit surprised by it.

dont worry we canadian are often travel to close country (US) on a day trip for grocery or something. It is is not considered as absent as long as you dont sleep there :P

Yes. One day trips don't count.

Now another problem.

I just returned from USA after spending 6 hours. The USA border guy did not stamp my passport. When I requested he started to scream and say its not needed. I just left the post. When I came back to Canada CBSA stamped my passport. What implications this can have when applying for citizenship.

Are you sure? Shouldn't there be a stamp in your passport behind the I-94 when it was first issued?

What he told me was, I already have a stamp from last month. So I don't need another stamp.

hi my friend also went to usa for 1 day trip since this is not counted, does she still need to put it on online calculator and reason is shopping thanks

Make sure you have USA entry record and Canada Entry record handy when you go to do the Citizenship test. Or submit it along with your application. I myself have this problem.

Any idea sambathvip on what should be done

Now I understand why I was not stamped. Apparently it is something called Automatic Revalidation of the US visa; it is done when you re-enter USA within 30 days from Canada or Mexico.

Now will this make my citizenship process complicated?
