Hello,

I have successfully sponsored my parents who are 70 an 73 years old. They will be coming in to live with me in Ontario in November this year.
Are they entitled to any kind of assistance from provincial/federal government ?
They both worked for appr. 35 years in Poland before they retired.
I'll be grateful for any advise / suggestions ...

No, they aren't eligible for OAS until they have resided in Canada for 10 years. (Then they would 25% of the pension)

This is what I have found so far ...

"However, if you have lived or worked in other countries with which Canada has social security agreements, the time spent there may count towards the 20 years since the age of 18 that are needed to receive an OAS pension outside Canada. "

Poland has social security agreement with Canada.
