Hey guys,
So this is a bit of an issue.
I sent my application on July 18, it was received July 20, and the office has it, so no issues there, I'm good to go there.
Now here is the problem:

There was nowhere on the form where they asked for a separate statement of intent to reside in Ontario (in Section F, Q1 is 'Do you intend to reside in Ontario, which I answered with yes, Q2 is asking for a separate attachment noting any ties to Ontario, which I have none of, so I just wrote N/A, and then the next few questions are specific questions about said ties to Ontario).
In the checklist (which I went through exhaustively before I sent the application in) nowhere does it actually list a separate statement of intent to reside in Ontario). I was, in fact, completely unaware that such a statement might be required outside of Q F.1.

However, today I was going through the Application Guide, and this is what I learned:

'You are required to declare your intention to reside in Ontario in Section F of the Nominee Application Form. You must provide a statement of intent stating your reasons to settle in Ontario and your ties to Ontario.'

This Statement of Intent is not included in my application.

Now, here are my questions to everyone, and i would greatly appreciate any answers I can get:

  • Is my application incomplete without this statement of intent? If it is incomplete, I am not too worried, because it will be returned to me, and I will have the chance to add in the missing documents and send it in again
  • If it is not incomplete, does the lack of this statement count against me at all, especially given my lack of any ties to Ontario?
  • If the lack of Statement counts against me right now, should I just fax/e-mail OINP with my statement of intent now (since technically a completion check hasn't occurred on my application yet, and I have received no AoR), asking them to please add this to my file?
  • If I do send it separately now, will they accept it? Will it work?

Please let me know, I'm starting to freak out a little haha. Thank you!

Anyone? Please!!!

The best is send it again to be safe. They do accept documents until your file has reached a decision. So, send an email asap.

Thank you!
I just did that, hoping it does not reflect poorly on me
Do they acknowledge receipt of additional documents? It has not been 90 days since they received my application eyt (though they did respond to an earlier email about my application that I sent last Friday).

I have same timeline as yours. I'm expecting to receive an AOR within this month.

You will get acknowledgement for additional documents too once your file is in processing.

Alright, thank you once again, you saved me from a lot of stress :)
And good luck to you!

The way I interpret it, this is already covered in the application form, in Section F.

(Although I did submit a separate letter because I itemized the documents for my ties.)

This is how I originally interpreted it, particularly since I did not even have any ties to Ontario, and because the checklist does not make note of any separate statement of intent unless you are making note of your ties to the province. But the wording in the Application Guide really threw me off today, so I figured I may as well send a Statement of Intent in. Better be safe than sorry, and all that!

Okay guys, so I sent this email three hours ago, but I have not yet even received their automatically generated reply- it's making me nervous if the email even reached their servers yet. it had three pretty big attachments, is that a reason for it to potentially not have gone through? Should I be worried? Should I email them again? Should I just try faxing them the documents instead?

3 hours ago is 6 pm in Toronto, so maybe they will get around to it tomorrow. :)
Ahh.
Would that affected an automatic reply too? Last week, I sent them an email regarding receipt of my application around roughly 6pm ET on Friday too, and I did get an automatically generated reply within a minute of sending it.
It's just me not having received that automatic reply that is making me worry that the email might not even have gone through to their servers, maybe because it had three attachments (the statement of intent to reside, as well as an address change form+cover sheet). If I don't get any reply by this time tomorrow, should I just resend it, this time maybe without the change of address attachments?

I never got automated replies whenever I wrote to OINP, including one just earlier today, I also sent attachments. A real human would reply to me within a few hours. They also acknowledged my attachment.
I would rather think you'd get a server alert if the attachments didn't go through.
Don't worry about it too much. They will reply next work day. :)

Ah, that makes me feel so much better, really. Thank you so much! And good luck with your application! :)

Good news! Got the email which acknowledged the receipt of additional documents, and assured me that they would be added to the file :)

Hello Aragorn165,

I am in a similar situation. I have ties to ontario (my brother) and in the question on OINP application, I wrote down about my family ties and attached supporting information regarding my brother. However, apart from that, I did not write a separate letter of intent. My application was received a few days ago but I haven't received an AOR as yet. I think you were in the same situation that you wanted to provide a letter of intent but you hadn't received an AOR. Am I correct? In that case, could I follow the same process as you and send them an email with my letter of intent, together with information about me (like EE profile #, job bank #, etc. so they can identify me)? Please help.

Also, as you had emailed them in Sep 2015, have you received an AOR and/or nomination as yet?
