Hi! Currently, I have a Nigerian passport that is recovering after it was soaked in oil (terrible mistake too long to explain). Is it advisable to use the same passport to apply for a Canadian visa, or would it be better to get a new one instead?

A passport that is damaged in any way is unlikely to be usable or acceptable to even travel anywhere but that’s just my view.

You must get a new passport. Your current passport will not be accepted for processing your visa application nor for travel
