My OHIP was expired last year as I was waiting for my CEC. I just landed as PR last weekend. Do I still need to wait 3 months for the new OHIP to be activated? Thank you!!!

no need I guess. Just walk in to renewal your OHIP card with your PR card or document as a proof.

You don't even need to wait to get the PR card. Your CoPR is proof of immigration status.

You will also need 2 more documents - one to prove residency/address (e.g. drivers license) and one piece of photo ID (e.g. passport).

If you didn't have status in Canada and/or was out of Canada for the last 7 months (or more), than you still need to wait 3 months.

You're right, I assumed the OP was living in Ontario the whole time. If that's not the case, disregard my post.

You'll have to go and apply to find out. Unless you were continuously working in Ontario (and can document that), you might have the 3 month waiting period again, but that shouldn't prevent you from applying now.

And, congrats on becoming a PR!

I have been living here .... but since my work permit expired (so did my OHIP).. then I changed my status to Student while waiting for CEC.
