I think the happier threads are necessary - so - I bought my first Canadian property yesterday. Ok, ok, because I'm not a Canadian yet only the hubby's name is on the mortgage, but I'll be on the title. We bought a beautiful condo in a high rise in the Vancouver area - the Penthouse. Our possession date is April 15 so I'll be waiting out the immigration from there. ;D And it's a GREEN building with solar panels.

Congratulations Linalizzie!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! My name is just on a lease lol but not there...I keep saying I need to get back to my kitchen and wait this out and we have not even filed yet!

Congratulations, that is a wonderful feeling! My partner and I did the same thing about 1 1/2 years ago. We thought about waiting for my Permanent Residence to go through. I am so glad we didn't wait! Sometime you have to take some steps of faith, as you did. The rest will follow shortly!!! ;D

Woo congrats. Sounds beautiful. I can't wait for the opportunity for my hubby and I to own and pick out a home.
For now I at least can't wait to get AIP so we can get our own apartment and get privacy away from the in laws. Lol. ;)

If we get to visit home this summer we plan on looking at property near his parents (Nova Scotia) to buy and pay on while we wait...and wait...and wait for the date he can apply for me and my daughter. Right now we just want land - it appears to be rather reasonably priced from what I've seen online so far. His parents would look out for it until we finally come home for good. I think just having the land waiting on us would get me through these impatient days. :)

Yeah they are very kind for putting up with us and all the circumstances. We may not always see eye to eye on everything but we still love each other. We just both want our privacy for sure. And sharing a living space for 2 years with them, definitely has its days. Lol. ;)
I will put up with the wait a bit longer though as long as we are by each others side then after we have all the time in the world to get a place we love.
