What if you do not have satisfactory academic standing in the first 6 month? i know that you will be not be eligible for off campus work permit..But what if in the next 6 months your academic standing is good? can you apply?

You can apply for a 12 month work permit after 12 months Full Time studies. i.e PGD/ etc

And a 3 years WP after 2 years of Full time studies .....

Bro isn't PGWP issued equal to the number of full time study years and its maximum limit is 3 years ?

2 years full time study = 2 years PGWP
3+ years full time study = maximum 3 years PGWP

I myself am not sure about this as I got this info from somebody else. Can you please quote any reference to back up your opinion so this confusion is cleared ?

Cheers ;-)

there shouldn't be any confusion .

In Canada only 2 years and more than 2 years program are offered 3 years WP.
And 1 year program is given 1 year WP.

I am sorry i don't have REF...

Reference here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp

Study time:

- less than 8 months = no PGWP
- more than 8 months, less than 2 yrs. = PGWP the length of the study time
- two years or more = PGWP of 3 years

My understanding is that if you have satisfactory academic standing now that you can apply even if you did not have satisfactory academic standing in your first 6 months. Try it anyway. The worst they can do is say no.

Thank you both, Leon & Hasnaat !
