OCWP questions

Google and the search function on here have failed me. I still haven't found what I'm looking for..... So, I turn to asking here.

Applying for OCWP seems pretty straight forward. Log in to MyCIC, apply for EVN, wait for it for a few days and then apply for OCWP. Cool. I'm down with that.

Now: I have seen on here in my search that some have applied for their EVN a few days before the 6 month point and they received it. Some as early as a week or more before. Is that really possible?

Once the application has been processed and it comes back positive (god forbid it doesn't) them what? For the life of me I can't figure out how to activate the OCWP. Foes it need to be stamped in to the passport? Do I need to go to an office to do that? Do I need to cross the border to activate it? Does it come via email or snail mail?

Seriously, I am totally lost on this so those of you who have done this, please help.

i dont believe u can get EVN before.....u always go to myCIC and so on ....once work permit is aproved u will get a document like ur study permit in snail mail which is ur OCWP. u dont have to go anywhere ..just take that document and identification to servicecanada office and u will get a SIN and u can start working

I'm in my Mycic account right now and can't find anywhere to update my snailmail address. Infact, I can't find my snailmail address anywhere, apart from in the application for the study permit.

How do I enter my Canadian address or will they send me the letter via email, like they did with the LOI?

ur application doesnt have ur current address in canada?

mycic has address field? i thought it just had a key....not sure u can update it...i believe they will use ur application address to send ur WP

The study permit application has my home address in Europe. Why would they send it there?

Of course. It is your NEW application. In terms of APPLICATION for OWP the new one is nothing to do with previous one for SP.

Awesome! Thank you. I had a panic moment yesterday as I didn't even find my passport which made me not think straight. Found it this morning so am breathing easier and seeing clearer now.
