OCI - Given name blank in passport

Did you attach any affidavit for xxx name in given name field for OCI?

Hi, I am also in the same boat. My first name in the Canadian passport is empty. I only have last name but to apply OCI I was told to put XXX and now I received the OCI with XXX as first name I hope I won't have any issues while traveling. I heard many have the same issue and they are aware of it.

Put it as XXX. You will receive OCI with given name as XXX. Travelled with such OCI no issues

Yes I travelled india there is no issue , as long as ur Canadian pp has xxx first name or blank first name but on oci as long as it is xxx that's fine..


also another thing if ur first name is blank on your Canadian pp
to book tickets you should use FNU (first name unavailable or unidentified) or u will have issues to board the flight
