obtaining PR status for 2nd time

Hi,
My Permanent Resident Status was from 2004 to 2009. I spent only few months in Canada and then have to return home because of some private things.
Last year when I traveled to Canada I have to sign a document to close PR status so I can travel to Canada with tourist visa and I did it.
My question is, is there any way how I can obtain PR status again?

Go through the entire application process that you used previously and hope you qualify.

Do you know if that (already lost PR status) would be aggravating or it doesnt matter for new application?

It doesn't matter that you lost your PR status. You can apply just like anyone else (provided you qualify).
