Hi All,

I have been living in Canada since 2013, and have traveled to the US on many occasions:

traveled twice on tourist visa and spent 3 days on each occasion - one in june 2015, another in june 2016
traveled once for visit and spent 2 weeks - dec 2015 to jan 2016
traveled on F1 visa and spent 2 weeks - march 2015

Now I'm on J1 visa which I started in January 9, implying I would have lived 6 months bu July 9.

However, I want to submit my PR application on June 12.

My question is, do I need to count my previous visits in the UK, or I need to only count from Jan when I began to live continuosly. Counting this will make all my presence in the UK to be ~ 6 months by June 9.

So you start off with the US and then flip to time spent in UK which is it ? Or is the UK a typo ?

You need to count all time physically spent in a country, regardless of your immigration status there. Just because you were a visitor, it doesn't mean that you didn't commit any offences :-)

Yeah, thank you. You are right, one might spend a day and commit an offence, I wonder why CIC doesnt ask for PCC for any country visited - even for 1 hour. lol
