Obtaining a previous PR file to apply for new Express Entry

Hi Everyone,

I am preparing to apply for Express Entry as a primary applicant through an immigration attorney. I had also applied for FSW in old immigration process back in 2010 through my wife as a primary applicant but our file was rejected because CIC did not recognize my wife's work experience valid for the specific NOC code. The reason for rejection was well explained in the rejection letter.

Now, My attorney is asking us to get his services to obtain the old PR file from New Delhi & he is charging 500$ for this. Even, I have provided all our previous forms & rejection letter to our attorney but he is saying its not enough & we need to obtain the old PR file.

can anyone please advise if you have been in similar situation or if the Old PR file is mandatory or not?

All you need is your PR file number and when answering statutory questions you'll explain the reason for rejection.
