NZ Police record.

Hi all,

Hoping someone here is a kiwi moving to canada that could help ;D

Is the NZ Ministry of Justice criminal record report enough for a sponsored person as part of their application? I stumbled on a form that allows the CIC to do the NZ police background check, but that's not mentioned on the checklist of documents/forms needed.

When I applied in 2010 for PR under the Skilled worker scheme, I was required to get a police check for all countries I lived in for more than 6 months. As a kiwi myself, the police record was sent by the police directly to Sydney, Nova Scotia. So that was enough back then, I guess it still is..

You need to use the form giving CIC permission to request it from MOJ. I have read of people who have requested it themselves thinking it would speed things up, but really it showed them down as CIC had to come back and request it from them later.
