Hi There!!

Does anyone here know if it's okay to have a tattoo if you are/will be a NURSE in Winnipeg?

I'm planning to have one on my birthday but I'm afraid I may not be able to get a job in a hospital when we migrate.

Please help. Thank you! ;D

I think it will depend where the tattoo is located and what the tattoo is of.

I think it depends on what the tatto says, if you have tatto like "Death to sick people" or "skull and bones" then you might as well change your profession.

That's exactly what I was thinking! Especially if it's located somewhere very visible like your forearm or neck.

Do you guys know anyone like a friend or relative who is a registered nurse and have a tattoo??
Coz I really wanna be sure I wouldn't encounter any problem. :)

I'm planning to have one on my torso.

Thank you! ;)

Why didn't you wait till you get the job since you have the concern? It depends on which institution or place that you are applying for? You can always get the tattoo done once you got everything settled?

Good luck

Hello
I am a nurse. Many nurses have tatos here in Canada. However, most have it in place that can be easily covered and also easily revealed. This includes the back of the neck, the forearm/shoulder or anywhere on the leg. With this places, you can easily cover it up.

So, I would say, do not have it on your face or anywhere from your elbow to fingers. Everywhere else can be fair game. And yes, it is ok to have things like you love someone or flowers or nice stuff. You definately dont want something racist e.g. that you are a member of KKK, or something of a hate/evil. If you plan to have something like this (hate or evil), I would advice you put it on your lap, your stomach or your bum- somewhere that should never ever be revealed in a professional setting or in a hospital.

Hope this helps.
