Hi everyone

I am wondering exactly how the Express Entry system calculates the number of years for work experience.

Does it calculate based on number of days? Or based on number of hours?

I learnt that CIC considers one year experience as 1560 hours. Well, I am working in a Canadian university and my paystub tells me that I am working 7 hours in a working day, which translates to 1750 hours a year.

If it calculates based on hours, then can I say I have worked for one year (1560 hours) in 11 months?

This question has been answered multiple times. Cic doesn’t consider any thing above 30 hrs per week. U have to achieve this number of 1560 thru this formula 52 weeks (or more) x 30 hrs (or less) = 1560 hrs

Thanks for your reply. But I am sorry I do not fully understand. Put it that way, if I started working on 1-Oct-2017, until 30-Sep-2019. Do you think this satisfies "two year"? How do you calculate in order to arrive at the conclusion? Thanks

PS: I need to be super careful because I am doing planning for my career and life decisions.

If there is no interruption other than paid breaks thn yes it satisfies 2 years requirement
