I have a Haitian wife living in Argentina. She wants to send copied of some of her documents that need to be translated and/or notarized. Can she get them translated and notarized in Argentina or does it have to be done in Canada? She can't send the originals as she needs them for obvious reasons. She can't come to Canada to do it.

Also I have our marriage certificate that is in Spanish. So i have to get it notarized->translated ->certified. I live 5 hours from the closest city so its not so simple to do this.

Hi there,

Your wife can translate & notarize her documents in Argentina, the important is to be in English or French.
Official documents like the original marriage certificate doesn't need to be notarized, they can only be certified as true copy.
I went to the city office and they put a "True Copy" stamp on all my copies.
I found a professional translator on internet, send him a pictures of the documents and he send me back the translated document by post mail.

Good luck! :)

Hi,
Please is affidavit of translation the same as certificate of translation accuracy? I got the latter from my translator. Advices would be appreciated Thanks.

She could get them notarized online in English OR Spanish using BlueNotary service. Just upload the certificate and they have bilingual notaries who can assist.
