Hello All,
We got mail from CIC, AOR 21/06/2017.
Mail content:

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence. To finalize your application, we require:



1) Passports

  • VFS is our trusted partner for safe and secure passport transmission. Using VFS services is the only way to submit your passport. Contact VFS in India (www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/india) or in Nepal (www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Nepal) and pay the requisite fees for the Passport Transmission Services . A separate envelope is required for each passport.


  • Please take this letter and present it to VFS for the purchase of the secure Passport Transmission Service. VFS will send your passport to the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi in a secure envelope. You will then be advised by VFS when your passport has been returned and is ready to be picked up.
Pl guide what todo.

well you should start googling about your nearest vfs center.

Hello Karens
I guess two weeks before checked then the status was you mentioned above.
We got mail only when we cleared medical after that today got this mail.

Is this the finalisation of PR or any other thing pending?
Also how much time it take to get passport back to us after stamping?

We submitted ours to VFS New Delhi and received our passports back on the 6th day (we chose the courier option it was couriered via Bluedart).
It cost us INR ~2K incl the courier (we were asked to carry cash - that was the only option to pay).

Choose based on your country (You can google maps for directions):
Url: https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/

We carried the following documents to the VFS office:
1. Print of the mail received from CIC
2. Original Passports for you and your dependants
4. Photocopy of the passport for you and your dependent
5. 2 photographs - as per the specifications mentioned (Similar to what you'd submitted in the application online).
6.Cash for the fees.

Regarding "finalization" - This email is a request for your passport, photos which will have a single entry visa (unless you're from a visa exempt country - I don't know if they do paste visa sticker/anything on the passport) which will enable you to land in Canada and complete the formalities (incl applying for a PR card).

So, summarizing, you're application is essentially approved all that's left is getting the Passports & COPR back and flying to Canada. Only AFTER you've completed your landing formalities you're actually considered a PR.

Hi,

Application submitted with all documents on 18th June'17
Medical Passed- 6th July 2017
RPRF Fees request email- 26th July 2017
Passports and photo submission email- 10th August.

I'll be submitting the same on Monday. Could anyone let me know how much time it would take to have my passport back after submission and Is there anything else left after this process?
