To marry abroad, some documents of mine have to be notarized, some have to be authenticated, what's the difference between the two?

In regards to documents, notarization means that a Notary Public certifies that a copy of a document is a true and unaltered copy of the original document.

Authentication is the process where the governmental body that registered the Notary Public certifies that the Notary's signature, seal, and license are valid.

This is all I can think of without more specific details (documents, country of origin, country where you will get married).
