1. Photocopies of passports
2. Photocopies of Diplomas/Professional certificates
3. Translations (of documents to English)

All other should be original

Some submit their passport not notarized but my personal advise is to have it notarized. Sometimes more is better than less. But you can decide what you want. Just confirm if some members here got PER even submitting a non-notarized passport copies (I believe they have). Wait for others comments.

Also, notarise all birth certificates, education certificates, previous experience certificates,...etc,..of your & your family members included in your application.

It is better to notarise so that it will give a positive impact for evaluation at CIC & VO.

I did not include the birth certificates because in my country we can get a copy from our National Statistics (census) Office which is already notarized by them (not by a separate notary lawyer). So I'm considering it as an original. Maybe it's a case to case basis and country by country case.

But for Employment certificate, I believe it should be original (from your employer) as indicated in the Document Checklist form and no need to be notarized.

For the July 2011 - June 2012 applicants (MI3), no more Specific Visa Office Checklist. CIC issued so many changes in forms and guides.

@mycan: Can I know when did you applied?

I have my original birth certficate,then you need not to be notarised.
