I got a doubt, suppose that you got a SO / friend who's a canadian permanent resident, and they write an invitation letter stating that they will provide you with accommodation for the time you will be spending in Canada, say 10 days. The letter is signed and notarized, you get your visa approved but then you decided to extend your visitor visa or get married, meaning you did not respect what the letter said.

Is the Canadian Government likely to take actions against the person who signed the letter? Being a permanent resident but NOT a Canadian citizenship

Have you heard of a case like this?

I planted this situation to my immigration lawyer and he said there was no problem, but I'd to know your point of view on this one.

No - the Canadian government won't take action. However it means that CIC most likely won't believe any invitation letters you write in the future and this will likely make it much more difficult to invite anyone else.
