Noob question - Regarding IP1 Ghost Update

Good day folks,

This may come as a noob question - How significant is IP1 ghost update during the process, does this mean that Eligibility has been passed and the application is progressing well or can this is be related to a very minor update like an officer simply looking at the file.

I am aware of the fact it is very hard to predict anything, any thoughts or insights would be great

As you mentioned, it is hard to predict. However, there are a few possibilities. If this is a second update you are getting after you have passed medicals it might be that you have passed eligibility or criminality. These are the 2 most probable scenarios.

In my case, i got a ghost update a week after i passed medicals and biometrics. I confirmed it was eligibility after calling CIC and getting GCMS notes.
It may be anything as well, like transferring the case to another VO and so on.
