I applied for a study permit on the 7th of last month and gave in biometrics on the following 10th. It’s been over 36 days at this point and I’ve gotten no response or even an update from them as my application is still suck at “We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility”. I know normal processing time is 7 weeks but if I were to get a decision in 2 weeks It should at least have some movement on it. I have raised a web form but ofc no one answered. I ordered gcms notes on the 5th of this month just in case they took longer than expected so I know where I stand and start making other plans in case it was a rejection.

Do you think that it’s taking this long I’m more likely to get an approval ? Most people I’ve seen on here got their rejection way sooner into the process. Idk what to think tbh

I’m from Egypt.

Why are you raising webform? There doesn’t have to be any movement on your application until eligibility review & it may only take a week. GCMS notes are a waste since it will be based n date you applied. U you on are within processing times so doesn’t mean approval or refusal.

U mean it’s normal ?

it’s been over a month and eligibility hasn’t even started yet which probably indicates they’re not gonna have a decision ready when it’s been 7 weeks from when I applied

Gcms notes are far from a waste. I applied for them on the 5th so it had already been over 4 weeks since my submission date. I’d think they would have looked at it by that time

What will your GCMS notes show? Asking for notes don’t move a file forward. Takes 3 months. 7 weeks are an estimate & many people on this forum wait many months.

It takes only 30 days to get processed. I’m only ordering them so I’d know where does my application stand in case I didn’t get a decision on time.

If you get GCMS notes in 30 days then you are lucky. Since Covid, most people wait 3+ months. If decision not made then not going to tell you much.
