if i am a canadian citizen but currently living abroad, and i apply as a non resident, but later move back to Canada during the application process, will this affect my application?
sometimes situations change!

Given that you have to submit a credible plan for return as part of your original application, actually returning to Canada while the application is in process cannot prejudice your application.

From CIC:

If you are a Canadian citizen who lives abroad and plans to return to Canada when your relatives immigrate, you may sponsor your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or your dependent children who have no dependent children.

To sponsor any other eligible relatives (for example, parents and grandparents), you must be living in Canada.

thats what i was thinking
amazing thanks!

I was just wondering once you do decide to relocate back to Canada will you already have employment or will you be looking? Im living in the US right now and I am starting my application to sponsor my husband. I plan on applying for job about two months prior to us moving to canada and i am praying it won't be that hard to find a RN position.

You're quite safe. There's a definite shortage of RNs in most places in Canada. I haven't checked recently, but I know that was on the NOC list for skilled workers (precisely because there's a real need). Check out the HRSDC or Service Canada websites, but I'd be shocked if there weren't plenty of opportunities. I did a quick web search and the first site I found (http://www.wowjobs.ca/BrowseResults.aspx?q=RN&s=r&l=) indicated they had 121 RN job lisitings in Canada at the moment.

But in your application you probably want to show that information. You might even want to make contact with a placement agency and get a letter from THEM saying "we've evaluated CdnRNUSN's credentials and will have no problems finding a suitable job for her upon return to Canada." That would go a long way towards establishing a credible plan.

Thanks!! I actually use to work in BC 7 yrs ago and at the time there was no problem. Im hoping its still the same story. I know that my years in experience will definately be an asset. Considering my husband will need to find a job i better be able to support him! Lol! Thanks again computergeek!

you will definately be able to find a job as an RN.

each hospital has their own website with postings of jobs available right online.

for example
st joes healthcare in London, ON there is 4 locations included in that healthcare group.
if you google the website for it, you will find all jobs hiring for are posted online and updated daily.

if you already know which city you are moving to research the hospitals check out the sites and keep an eye on the postings before you apply!!!!
goodluck!
