I am in Pre-ITA phase and filling Express Entry forms. I am applying from the USA.

My situation is as below, I'm little confused about choosing NOC along with adding responsibilities.

Education wise I have below US degree.

· Credential: Master of Science

· Major/Specialization: Information Systems Engineering and Management

· WES – Canadian Equivalency: Master’s degree

The company, that I have 3+ years of experience with, acquired by another company. So, I don’t have any hopes of getting the reference letter. I have other supporting documents like all pay-slips and experience letter that proves the duration.

To prove my responsibilities, I decided to ask ex-collogue and get the reference letter signed from him.

I have below questions:

1. What NOC should I choose if I have experience as Software Developer? 2173 or 2174.

2. Can I just copy all the responsibilities listed in below official link ( if I choose 2173 ) and paste in the reference letter and get it signed from ex-collogue? Or I should modify them to make it more real.

3. My none of the letters, including payslips, mentions the number of hours worked per week. Can I just include the number of working hours in above reference letter along with all responsibilities?

Please advise.

For proving work experience, reference letter is a must. Pay stubs and Tax form are additional proofs and can't replace reference letter. The responsibilities signed by your ex-colleague can't be the proof, as it won't be in your company's letterhead.
2. If you copy paste the responsibilities from the NOC duties, your application will be outright rejected. The responsibilities has to be in your own words, resembling the duties stated.
3. You should include that in the reference letter, but it should be in your company's letterhead.

Thanks, @santhkum90 for the quick response, appreciate it.

As I mentioned, the company does not exist anymore, and I can present some public proof that describes that acquisition has happened. If the company is folded up, how am I going to get the reference letter? What I can do is to ask ex-colleague to sign the letter which contains responsibilities related to the NOC and get it notarized by a public notary. Are you saying this option will not work at all?.

Hello

Can you please tell me what did you do for the number of hours in reference letter. I am in the same situation where my employer is not willing to enter number of hours
