Hello guys,

I'm confused about my NOC. I worked on 2 different field of occupation/job title (18 months as health educator and 20 months as a college teacher), however both of them are under NOC "A". So while filling EE profile can I use both of them so that I can claim points for 3 years or I can only choose one job title ?

Similarly, one of the job that I mentioned above was done by me while pursuing my undergrad degree. So is that okay ? or I can claim points for only the job that I did after completion of my undergrad degree?

Yes you can claim points for 3 years.

It purely depends on the NOC that you are choosing.

Thank you so much for your reply. So that means even I have worked in 2 different job title (NOC 4165 and 4021) I can claim points right?
That is correct. One should be of 12 months continuous out of two.

I am not 100% sure as cic website says job in one occupation. So in his case there are 2 different job title. So can he claim points for 3 years work experience?
Minimum requirements
Skilled work experience
Your work experience must be:

  • in the same type of job as your primary NOC
  • within the last 10 years
  • paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships don’t count)
  • at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2016 National Occupational Classification (NOC)
  • at least 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
this says, "MINIMUM"

So in my case, my work experience will be in 2 different NOC (4165 and 4021), both of them are different so I can't claim points for another one (4165 on which I have 18 months of work experience) except my primary NOC 4021 (20 months of experience) ?

You misunderstood the context.

you can claim points for both of your work experience. There are several set of conditions to that. If both jobs are full time (minimum 30 hours/week), then just add the months and that will be your total experience.

if any of them is part time, then you will have to calculate according to part time condition and join in full time to have your final work experience.

Thank you so much Preet. You are the best.
