I am one year away from graduating from a 4-year post-secondary university in Canada studying (BA) Psychology. I am looking to get experience as a Behavioral Specialist for children in the spectrum.

However, I cannot seem to find an NOC that is representative of my job title. Are there any suggestions? I believe "4215 Instructors of persons with disabilities" could possibly fulfill this position but I am unsure.

Additionally, while I will have a BA in psychology, the employment requirement:
  • "A bachelor's degree in special education or a related field such as social work or psychology may be required"
would be fulfilled, but not the other requirement:
  • "Completion of a college program in special education, rehabilitation, orientation and mobility, visual impairment, hearing impairment or intellectual disability is required."
Would this be an issue? How do I ensure that I get into a job that will satisfy the NOC requirements?
Thanks so much!
