NOC for SOFTWARE & COMP SYSTEM EVALUATOR

Hi Friends,

My friend's Occupation on WP reads as "SOFTWARE & COMP SYSTEM EVALUATOR".

His designation as per his company hierarchy is "Asst Systems Engineer".

His LMO was processed (for the current WP) for the position "Software tester".

Can he apply under NOC B category -" 2283 - software testing technician / Systems testing technician"?

Share your thoughts plz.

If NOC 2283 matches his duties then, yes. The title of his position or what's printed
on the WP doesn't matter, all he has to do is find the NOC with the duties closest to his position and
use that for the application.

However, I don't do any software testing stuff. I am in Core System/Server Administration. So do I have to use NOC 2281??

use that for the application.

Yes, that's what I did. I have the duties of NOC 2281 but my WP says something totally different,
and so does my contract.

So I use NOC 2281 for my application.

I thought the NOC code you use to apply under CEC must match the NOC code mentioned in your WP. Isn't this true?

I know NOC 2283 for SOFTWARE & COMP SYSTEM EVALUATOR. This is on my WP as well. But what if I don't do any software testing. There is not a single word of "Testing" in my jobs and responsibilites. Please advise what to do in this situation??

Hi Omshri,

My responsibilities is all type of software manual testing like System testing, regression testing, smoke testing, my Work permit is applied with NOC 2283.

Sorry, didn't realize ur post n question. He used noc 2283 on his file. He is basically a s/w tester.
