Hello Members,

Posting this query again in hope of getting pointers on where to look for answers. I am sure this point has been discussed somewhere.

My Spouse plans to submit his express entry profile and he has an Open Work permit currently with no NOC code mentioned on it.

What should he fill for Four digit NOC code of current work permit while filling the EE profile.

Can he just fill the NOC code most relevant to his profile or is there something else to it ?

Thanks,
caimi

unless he has an LMIA - and he doesn't as he has an open permit - he has to say no to the question "do you have a job offer in Canada" (yeah yeah i know, but he does! he's working in it!) Only LMIA backed job offers are considered valid in EE. Anyway, once he says he doesn't have a job offer, he shouldn't have to fill in the NOC code question.

NOC CODE is basically the job title that matches his current job. If you cannot find the exact job title , have a look at the job description, the most relevant one is what you have to pick.
Please ensure that you read well and then pick the NOC CODE, because the letter that he will get from his company would have his job duties mentioned and it is 100 % necessary that it matches the NOC CODE or the job title that he has picked.

Are you sure about that? I am on an open work permit (my wife's a student) and I would be completing my 1 yr work exp at the end of September. I was hoping on applying thru FSWP.

Thanks for the help.

purplesnow is right. The answer to that question should be Yes only if you have an LMIA supported job offer.
