I am a Mechanical Engineer ( Utilities and Maintenance oriented experience) have browsed a lot in search of a suitable code for the titled post. But i am pretty confused about this NOC stuff. Can someone put the final and latest NOC list here.And this new 38 professions list is different from actual NOC list.As stated in the CIC site, i could not locate 0 level, A, B, or C level professions and the list i saw has 4 digit numbers instead. Also please explain that the famos 38 professions would also be available in the main NOC list or they have been separated from the main list. Please help by putting the latest NOC list here and explaining in simple words that how one is supposed to find his NOC code no. out ? And to get the experience points one need to have at least one year exp. in the last ten years out of those 38 + min 70% job resemblence (responsibility wise) in the main list matching profession. Please correct me if i am wrong!!Thnaks

Dear ,

Pls check this one...http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Concordance.aspx

cheers

Thanks dear, i have found out the following NOC

C032.2132Mechanical Engineers

Please tell whether it still holds and this list is latest revision. Now where can i find the job description of this NOC code from. Thanks

Don't worry .... I also APPLIED under same NOC2132 (Mechanical engineer) ...for job responsibilties go and search.....http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2132

what are you doing now...?

Dear,
i think for Federal skilled worker immigration our occupation must be in 38 occupation list.
am i right?
i am also mechanical engineer with 6 yrs. of exp. in Plant maintenance and now working as a design engineer..but i am going to apply in 4131, which is listed in 38 occupation list.

Sam.

you can try 7213 code that is for Supervisor pipefitting trades....In my case it suits my experience...Have a look...

@Sanjay
Tahnks for the link. But what did you do about the one year exp from 38.I mean which profession did you choose from 38 list as this 2132 is not in 38.I am in design review these days.Just stay in touch dear.
@Samkor
Dear what i understood from the law is that you dont need to select an occupation out of 38 and apply under that. The profession that you select from 38 is the one in which you are supposed to have min one year exp in the last 10 years.Now about the other part of your experience it does not necessarily requires you to stick to a certain profession out of 38 only, instead you can go back to the main NOC list and try and match your responsibilities with some profession there.
Experts please correct me if i am wrong.

that's right.....if your job responsibilites matches with your NOC above 70%.....that's not a problem....but it should be mentioned on your experience/employment certificate also.

cheers...

Sanjay you never told which profession did you choose from that 38 list ! :'(

Dear ,

If you check my time line i applied before feb2008, under NCO 2132 (Mechanical engineer), but i am working as Plant Engineer from last 6years...only you have to match your job responsibilties with the code in 38 list at present....
and in that case your degree should be in the same field....

Suppose i got a job as Plant engineer....so many graduates with CHEMICAL/ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL/INSTRUMENTATION degrees can be a Plant engineer....but only with mechanical engineering degree can apply with NOC2132.....

pls check this ....http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp
