Manufacturing Support Technician – Polisher
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Manufacturing Support Technicians (Polishers) are expected to hand polish and deburr precision metal mold components to achieve required surface finishes. The majority of their work will be with powered spinners (similar to a Dremel Tool), attached to various metal working materials (stones and abrasives). They must be able to measure the completed parts using metrology and CMM, so that the features they polish do not fall out of specification. It is precision work that requires skilled hands and a strong attention to detail. You will also be setting-up, editing and operating CNC surfacing equipment such as CNC Micro-Blast, Hone & Laser.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School/GED diploma or certified apprenticeship program
- 1-2 years relevant work experience
- Setting-up and operation CNC equipment in accordance with approved, safe work procedures
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience/knowledge with hand tools and power tools
- Experience with measuring tools
- Flexible with rotating shift work
- Ability to perform manual polishing
- Inspection Experience
- Tight tolerance experience
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprint
- Ability to read and understand GD&T symbols, blueprint and CAD drawings
- Experience with polishing and stoning machines an asset
- Worked with various grades of Diamond paste
- Experience with Mold polishing an asset
- Experience with deburring equipment and grinding an asset
- Good communication skills
- Experience with basic Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Lean experience: Flow/Pull, 5S or Continuous Improvement
