Hi Can someone help me out with this please I am really confused...
I did 2 years program (Business marketing) in Sheridan college. I been working in company since October and I am planning to apply my PR in October 2014.
Basically what I do is I sell merchant services (debit and credit machines, Virtual terminals and E-commerce solutions)
I looked at two noc codes 1st is 6221 technical sales executive (duties are same what I do exactly but I am confused selling merchants services fall in technical sales or no but duties are exactly same) and moreover my VP says that it is technical sale.
2nd one is Noc 6235 Financial sales rep (Merchant services specialist -Financial) This is what I exactly do but job duties are half same half different.
can someone let me know if I can apply in one of these NOC codes or if not what noc code I can look at
And does my study has to match with my job ( I heard it doesn't have to be )
Thank you

Well, if you sell the machines, applications, and the technical support for processing payments to merchants, then 6221 is appropriate.

If what you 'sell' is accounts, loans, other credit, payment processing services (not machines) etc. to customers, then 6235 is appropriate.
Based on what you have written, it is clearly 6221.

Thank you much....we sell machines, E-commerce solutions all duties are matched with 6221 Sale executive
we don't provide any credit or loans though
and one more thing if you can answer please does study should match wit job or no...as I did business marketing
Tahnks again

It helps if your field of study is related to your field of work, but it is definitely not a rule.

It is upto you to prove to the VO that you actually performed the duties listed in the NOC code you choose. And you do this by providing reference letters from employer(s), pay stubs, copies of work contracts, etc.

Moreover, since you have studied business marketing, I think you should be fine.

Good luck!

Thanks again my friend it will be great help....
It use to say account executive on my pay stub but I recently got it changed to Sales executive technical I can provide them 5 months of pay stub. Moreover I asked my employer to give me reference letter with all duties it says under 6221 he is agreed on that because that's exactly what I do.
I was confused about that will VO consider selling Debit credit machine ,E-comm solutions consider under technical my employer said it is technical sale that's why they provided me 2 months training as well in the beginning.
Thanks again

Paystubs are not required, they are supplementary - provide only if needed. If you have the Letter of Employment & T4, and they basically match, no need for paystubs.

In any case - job title does not have to match, only duties & responsibilities.

One more point - the duties & responsibilities in the letter cannot be identical to the NOC - they should NOT be cut and pasted in to the letter. Your employer should describe the duties in his/her own words...

Thanks
my main concern is if I am choosing right noc code ?
if selling merchant services falls in technical sales or no?
thanks if someone can confirm me that it will really appreciated

and Jes it says Technical sales wholesale, retail and wholesale buyer (6221)
we sell merchant services to merchant who has 200 location we sell it to merchant who has only 2 locations I don't know if it comes under wholesale.
and will it make big difference if my company or I sell on wholesale basis or retail if my job duties are same
Thank you jes

Jes thank you so much for you continuous help..
Can you please tell me selling merchant (Debit credit machines, Virtual terminals and E-commerce) solutions falls in wholesale or retail.
Its strictly B2B . we can not sell it to general public we sell these solutions to businesses only then they use it.
Do you think I can still apply under Noc 6221 :)
