Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can help us to understand what (if any) NOC my husband could be included in.

He is a qualified motor mechanic and has 20 years experience as a mechanic and the relevant qualifications. However, the job he does is to assess and approve requests for approval of work at garages for fleet vehicles. So, he does not work on the cars himself, but his qualifications and experience are absolutely required in order for him to do the job.

As an example: a customer fleet vehicle (think company car) will go to a garage for work. The garage will assess the vehicle and contact my husband saying “the vehicle has X problem and requires Y work to be fixed at a cost of £X-please approve the work and pay the bill”. My husband will then assess the information, challenge work required and/or challenge the cost before approving or declining.

We immediately thought NOC 7321 but this is all about working on the actual cars, which he doesn’t. I have also looked at NOC 1312 but this seems to be specifically for assessment of insurance claims, which is not what he assesses.

I know people will say “try it and see” but in order to have enough points we would have to go to Canada and him start work etc. we have a baby and would have to sell our house to move-too risky to “try it and see” :-(

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Before looking at NOCs, are you eligible for Express Entry with at least 67 points based on your IELTS and ECA? If so what is your eligibility score and then CRS score.

NOC 0731? NOC 0621?
