Hi everyone,

I have been working in the US, as a PhD student, in graduate teaching and research assistant positions for about four years. During semesters, I work 20 hours per week, whereas in summer I work 40 hours per week. In my EE profile, should I list semester and summer experiences separately? Since semesters and summers do not last for more than one year, would that cause a problem since I have to work for at least 1 year in one position to qualify for FSW? Thank you!

Are you in the US on a F1 visa or are you a US citizen/PR? If the former, then your university cannot hire you for greater than 20h/week.

Thanks for reply. My understanding is that the rule only applies during the semesters ... During the summer you can work full time.

That is correct. It is slighltly complicated if you split your job into multiple parts as you noted, you will need atleast one year of continuous so maybe dont split the first year? The otehr question is will your advisor/university be ok writing such a complex split?

How did you end up putting it in the EE form? I'm in the same boat
