Hello everyone, it’s tax season again and I’m planning to submit our application in mid March. Would it be okay if we submit 2018 NOA and just include 2019 t4’s? Or would it be better to file taxes then wait for the NOA and submit?

There is no income requirement you just need to show you can support yourselves without government help.

Yes I know that but it says on the checklist that sponsor will have to provide proof of employment/source of income which is a letter of employment AND most recent notice of assessment. Would it be okay to submit 2018 NOA or do I have to file 2019 first and then use that?

Yes... Do what you said you'd do in regards to sending 2018 etc. You can explain you have not submitted 2019 as yet. Get your app in. No need to wait.

We’re still gathering our documents but mostly be done in mid march which is tax season. That’s a relief that I don’t have to wait for 2019’s NOA cuz that will take a while for sure.

You can even apply without a job. You just have to show you have the funds to support yourselves. The bar is pretty low. An employment letter with you salary is fine. T4 is fine.

They don’t need NOA 2019.

Yes That's fine as well. As long as you provide your means of income even if unemployed...what ever they asked for on the application they know that it's Tax Season. Happens every year. They'll ask for anything updated if needed later.
