Good afternoon!

I am an October 2014 applicant and CIC asked me to do my medical exams back in June (they received it a while ago), but also to send them my T4 and NoA for 2012, 2013 and 2014. I realized that my former boss considered me as self employed (which doesn't count for CIC), so I had to fill a complaint to change my status. It took a while but I finally got my T4 in July.

I asked Revenue Canada to reassess my taxes in order to get new NoA. It was only supposed to take 8 weeks maximum but they screwed up, and it's going to take at least 8 more weeks (CIC wanted everything by the end of August).

Now, here is my question: can I send my old NoA, with a letter saying that I should have the new ones by 2016 so they can see that I paid my taxes on time, etc...? Or is it better to wait until I get the new ones? I guess that they need them to check that I still pay taxes? I called CIC today and the woman was honestly one of the rudest person on Earth, she simply refused to answer me because it's not her job to help me. Thanks...

I sincerely hope you sent a response to the request before the end of August...

It is better NOT to wait. Send the old one with an explanation, along with whatever documents you submitted to the CRA to request reassessment. I hope it's not too late.

I sent them my T4 on time with a proof that I asked for a police clearance certificate and also a letter explaining my situation with a proof that I asked my taxes to be reassessed (CRA agreed to write me a letter saying that I have a case in process)... My application is still "in process", so hopefully they won't cancel it...

I will send my old ones today with another letter explaining my case (that it's gonna take another 8 weeks at least, etc), just in case... :/

Exactly right...

Well, looks like all my taxes from 2012, 2013 and 2014 have been reassessed by CRA on October 30th, so I should get my NoA very fast by mail! Can't wait to send everything to CIC... Hopefully my application will move forward quickly after that...
