No update yet since july 24th

I applied since on the 24th of july 2018 for my study permit and no update till now.
And my school has resumed since 5th of sept 2018..
Please am i to reapply again or defer and please if i defer, am i to send any letter to the embassy...
Am just confused...

I applied on 19 th july.my late attendance date was on 10th September ‘18. I missed the session.I have no clue whether I will get it within even next session or not
