No update on VV for 9 months

Below is the details of my newborn's visitor visa

* Both parents already have active VV
* First VV submitted for bewborn on Nov 6
* Second VV submitted in May, 2022
* Both applications are active
* Both applications are applied through GCkey
* submitted an invitation letter to visit a family friend who is a citizen in canada
* submitted a webform and got a general reply


How long can one wait to receive a reply? what can be done other that wait ? Should I reapply on the new portal for the third time? please advise !

So the second application is within processing timelines. What is status of first application? Was it cancelled when you applied for a second time?

No, it's still active. Just waiting endlessly is so frustrating. There is absolutely no movement. Since the first application is still active should I hear something by now? First can I apply in the new portal? if I do Will it delay it even further ?
