Hi,

My common-law partner, who is Canadian, hadn't filed taxes before this year. We filed our 2011 taxes a couple of weeks ago.

I've heard in some places that it takes 3 months (!) to get your tax return when you do it for the first time. So, given that we have no way of getting an option C form, what can be submitted instead? All of her T4s? I know there's an employment letter too.

Thanks!

you can submit her T4s and letter from employer and evidence of any kind of income like, interest income, saving account, investment, rental income for last 12 months and write a letter explaining why didnt you submit option-c. if you have filed your taxes , tell them that you can send option-c later.
best of luck

also submit your 2010 notice of assessment which should have been mailed out last year or then can be accessed online. if you need assistance call up CRA @ 18009598281 and press * to speak to an agent have you SIN and 2011 T4 handy as they will probably ask some security questions...

ps u do not need option c printout if you can prove your income otherwise
