Hi All,
I called Canada Revenue and requested an Option C printout and I was unable to obtain one. For starters I haven't lived in Canada for 8 years. I have been living and working in Japan. I am therefore a Non-Resident of Canada. Can anyone give me advice on what to include in my letter explaining why I do not have an Option C printout.

Thanks
DJV

Very simple, attach a separate sheet referencing the corresponding Checklist item (#17 on the sponsor's check list) and explaining what you have mentioned here in your post, i.e. that you've been living eight consecutive years in Japan, that you have not filed your income taxes in Canada for that period of time and therefore, an Option C printout is not available from the Canada Revenue Agency, but that you are including income statements to demonstrate that you have supported yourself in the 12-month period ending before filing your application.

You should be fine with whatever explanation you supply as long as it is accurate and you can include documentation showing you were either employed or studying.

Good luck.

hi, if you have been living in cada and have make no tax return, you wont get option c, as mentioned by farfelu is the best
