Hello,

I was wondering if someone is no longer in college (over 1 year), and has a valid student visa until Sept 2013, are they still allowed in the country for a short visit? When I took time off of school, the International department told me that I was only allowed 1 semester off, so in order to have more time off I completely withdrew from the school. I was told that every semester they report to Immigration on the current status of International students. Does this make my visa invalid or am I still able to travel? Do I need to report that it is invalid and apply for a visitors visa to avoid complications upon entering Canada?

Thank you in advance!

the school tell the CIC every october (by sending the report ,the student who are no more enrolled) so once CIC database is updated ,they'll inquire you while travelling may be.you can travel but you cant remain in canada coz of your status.either u should apply and be student again or apply for PGWP if u earn diploma or degree.
hope that helps
