My father does not have last name listed on his passport. As per CIC guidelines, name on the passport should be put in "last name" field and "given name" should be left blank.

If I follow the guidelines, application is giving me validation error. I saw old posts that suggested putting "*"/ "NA" / "X" in the "given name" box but CIC guidelines clearly mentions not to use any of these options.

I have posted this question thru IRCC web form as well but I am getting nothing from them :( :( :( . Does anybody have a solution to this problem??

I am stuck on the same situation.. Did you get a solution?

i'm pretty certain you can put entire name in last name, and leave first name column blank... i remember doing it for someones profile not so recently.

if it doesnt work, try creating a new dummy profile and see if that works
