I received a letter that the visa office would not be requiring an interview at this time. Does this mean they are in the last stages of processing? What next? My medicals expire in August. I'm trying to avoid having to re-do them. They are so expensive.

You're near the end!! Congrats!

Thanks so much! I do hope so! :)

Next is for them to request your passport if you need a visa inserted, or to request copies of your passport pages if you do not. Either way, you also get your COPR and then it's for you to land! :)

Thank you for the information. Any idea how long we are looking at? I'm so eager at this point.

or sending him the refusal letter
because not asking for interview is not always is meaning visa will be issued soon

Why on earth would you tell someone that?

I believe that under CIC operating procedures you cannot refuse someone without first giving them an opportunity to respond to the VO's concerns, i.e an interview. Hence, if your interview has been waived, it is far more likely that you have been approved. Exception to this might be if you are attempting to sponsor someone that is clearly inadmissible (e.g. a know terrorist or something) or someone who is obviously not a member of the class you sponsored under (e.g. sponsoring a friend as your spouse).

No interview is a good thing...it means you've passed the test and will get your visa soon.

THank you for all the "positive" words. If you're in this forum, you know how long it can seem waiting to be with the ones you love. Cheers to you.

Maybe I'm not near the end after all. If the Buffalo office is closing, my application will be shuffled off somewhere new and who knows what will happen now. This is very discouraging.

hi. can you please explain request copies of passport pages if you do not need a visa inserted? what are the instances for this one, when your passport isn't requested?

also, what is a COPR?

thank you!
