Hi all,

I know that this is a different question from what the focus of the group is, but I could not find the answer elsewhere and I hope there is someone here who could shed some light into my question.

I come from a country which does not allow name change except in extreme cases. In Canada I got a name change (which was far from an extreme case as defined in our legislation). My current PR Card reflects this change. And now I have an issue: the name in my passport is different from the name in my PR Card. I just applied for Canadian citizenship so it'll take a while for me to get it.

Which name do I use in my application: legal name in Canada which is also the one on my PR Card, or the name on my passport? I'll provide them with a photocopy of my certificate of legal name change, but how do I proceed in this application in regards to filling out the name?

I am guessing it should be the name on my passport, but I'd like to know if anyone had the same issue as me.

Thanks
