Anyone have any info/experience on this?

I thought beings both the U.S. and Canadian govt's did a background check on me, that my PR app would go much quicker. Am I dreaming?

yes......one has nothing to do with the other.....

Quite likely, unfortunately. The background check conducted there will not make the one CIC does any faster or quicker, sad to say.

reading above replies
i would say unfortunately you have to wait for another 12months to be canadian pr like all other applicants ;)

the nexus between Canadian PR and Nexus card is next to nothing :o

I personally have no up front experience with the nexus card but did do research when it first came out... if I'm not mistaken the card has to be renewed every 5 years so it would most likely be the same process of obtaining it in the first place... I just don't see them having the time or man power to maintain those background checks monthly or even yearly (not everything shows up @ border crossings)... what I'm trying to get at is that you could have gotten the nexus card and then got arrested the next day and they would not have knowledge of that until the renewal time. so I can see why they want background checks for everything....
