All,

I am new to this forum and would like to know the following details (please excuse me for not using proper threads, if any).

1. How long would entire processing time be for Skilled Worker Migrant category (from day of application to the day when we know we are ready
to go to Canada).

2. If I start the process while I am in US and go back to India in between, will the process continue ? If I am asked to attend an interview and I
dont have proper Visa to US, how to deal ?

3. Is IELTS a must ? (I have got 71 points )

4. Do we need to use an Attorney ? OR is it helpful if the case is represented by an Attorney ?

5. I am qualified under 2112 -chemists & 2174 - Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers. Can I Use both ?

6. Do we have any kind of premium processing ?

Thanks a lot for all your inputs.

May not be accurate answers, but just to give you an idea:

1. It depends on which Local Visa office you select/belong to. It might take 12-18months or even more for buffalo based on trackkit timelines.

2. The process will continue no matter where you are. For a personal Interview you will have to come to USA. Or you can request for a change in Local visa office if you completely move out of USA but you have to do that before you are even called for an interview.

3. It is HIGHLY recommendable to give IELTS even though u have a PhD from Oxford University in English Literature. At a later stage if they ask you to give the test it will be a waste of time for you.

4. No way it is helpful or essensial to have an Attorney. If you have time/patience/and an eye for detail you can do it yourself. Its very easy. But if you do not have time and have money to spend go for an attorney.

5. Already answered..............check the NOC categories and see if you qualify.......if you do not......its a waste of time to apply in the FSW category......check out for other canadian immigraiton options.

6. No premium processing...........single line for everyone.

good luck
