My husband and I are getting married in just three weeks and I've started to look at the Sponsorship app and have been collecting info & documents and such so that we can send our app in ASAP once we get married. I have a few of questions:

1. Under the Background/Declaration form there is a section on Organizations and it states "What organizations have you supported, been a member of, or been associated with?". My soon-to-be has donated money to quite a few different organizations, does that mean he will need to list every single one, since he has financially supported them?

2. I have saved just about every plane ticket from every flight I have ever taken, but there are two visits to see my man that have disappeared. Is there any other proof of travel that I can provide? Like a credit card statement or a statement of miles earned on my Aeroplan account? (which states the flight segments that I flew) The same goes for my fiance, he has a few tickets but some are missing (<-- and I told him to keep them, grrr!)

3. On the Sponsored Spouse Questionnaire, it asks how you communicate when you are not together. We mostly communicate with Skype.. Do I print out our entire history of skype conversations? With just about 2 years of history, it's going to be 100+ pages. I also have a very long thread of emails which are probably 40+ pages.

4. I know that he will require a Police Certificate and a Medical, but does that have to get sent with the application or does it get sent in later? Also, can any Americans attest to about how much the police check and medical cost?

I THINK that's all the questions I have.. at least for now. Thanks!

Also, can any Americans attest to about how much the police check and medical cost? You need to send in your police check and medical receipt along with your sponsorship if at the least send in proof that the police check have been ordered and will be sent when received but medicals have to be sent in

1) If the the donations were significant and/or he is a member of the organizations, or he is associated with them by more than just the donations, I would try to list as many as possible. Better safe than sorry.

2) If you don't have stamps in your passport (because it was just the states to Canada and they often don't) then I would send credit card statements or invoices of the flights purchased; it doesn't have to be the boarding pass itself. Just something that proves you actually took the trip.

3) We had a lot of skype history and emails too. I printed off a selection of 6 pages from 70+ pages of history (from near the beginning, middle and end) and explained there were lots more were that came from. I also chose emails that I thought showed our relationship the best and wrote a sort of cover-letter for them, explaining any necessary background context.

4) Police certificates and proof of having the medical exam need to be sent in with the application. I believe that the FBI check for Americans can take a pretty long time, so I'd get on that asap. I'm not sure of the price of medicals in the states, but I've heard it's cheaper in Canada, if it's possible for your fiancé to get them done here.
